Blue optics glanced down at the photograph in his hand one last time, before it was stowed away into his pocket for safekeeping. No need for her to find out that he had been waiting for her. It seemed that she had moved in just in time too — his client must have observed her long enough to find out, or Colonello would not have known so easily; he was not one to investigate, more just shoot and leave.
Which usually did not require a week — just a day would have been sufficient. If only for his suspicions though.
Either way, it was time. He was dressed casual when he made his way down to his target’s new home that evening, a gift in his hand. Nothing suspicious, just a towel. Not even a weapon in sight, because she could not possibly just shoot down an innocent civilian, could she? At least Colonello was wiling to bet on it. If anything, he still had his usual martial arts.
And he knocked on the door, preparing a ‘friendly neighbor’ smile, teeth and all that usually knocked over even the housewives.
“Hey, I noticed the moving truck. I live down the street, kora.” Smooth as silk — good that he still had it even after not taking up this sort of mission for a long time. “Just came by to say hi.”
⊰ ————— { ♚ } —— ;; She had hardly noticed the sky start to change from the bright of day to evening. She had finished putting the books away, had even cleaned around the place a bit. Then had gotten herself comfy on the couch with a book. And well let’s just say she had been there for awhile that upon glancing over at the clock she then noticed it was evening.
Odd how time flew when you were told to – well sit around and make yourself adjusted to your surroundings. There was only so much one could do with a house the size of what she was currently living in. Lal as her real name was, had checked the lock on all the windows, doors, anything that she would need if she needed to make a quick get away. And by the looks of things, everything was ready to go if she so needed it.
Lal had then – after snapping herself out of her own thoughts – gotten up and headed over towards the kitchen. Just to see just what she could attempt to make for dinner. As dinner time was closing in soon and she did notice the small grumble her stomach made informing her of such. Though just as she had placed an apron over her clothes and closed the fridge she heard a knock on the door. Blinking she untied the apron as she made her way toward the door, then tossed it over the edge of the couch.
She wasn’t expecting anyone to visit, and she didn’t think a neighbor would be visiting so soon? Or perhaps that was how they did where she decided to move in? She honestly hadn’t had that much time to remember any of the neighbors or figure out if they knew anything related. Though upon unlocking the door and opening it She blinked upon seeing an unfamiliar blond, complete with a friendly smile.
One of the neighbors she hadn’t met yet she assumed as she looked at him calmly. Just what on earth was he here for? To greet her? or? She wasn’t sure, but she did notice the towel with him as well.
” .. Can I help you, sir ? “.
Lal questioned, now looking at him with a bit more curiosity then she had first shown. Then heard his response. Ah – so he was a neighbor, she was right. And down the street? Hm. He honestly wasn’t all that bad looking as well – well at least according to her. Not that she was interested in a relationship or checking out guys. But it was something she happened to notice. Maybe it was the blue eyes he had that got her thinking that way. Regardless she nodded as he continued.
” Ah, with a towel ? “
She couldn’t help but question then add, to be polite.
” Hi “.
Short, simple and to the point was her added response then continued seeing as the other was looking for her to say something else.
” If that is all you wanted, it was nice to meet you. But I currently am about to make dinner “.
And then as if on cue she gave a small bow of the head, then went to slowly close the door. Figuring that was all he wanted from her – was to just say hi.
