“So you’re the kid they hired to kill the hitman.”
“I’m not a kid, kora.“ Azure orbs shifted from the lens of the rifle’s optic to a heavy-built man in striped suits and fedora hat for a second, before training back on his target. "You are not an enemy.”
“Well-observed,” the mustached man grinned, flicking his cigar. “I’m an ally of the famiglia that hired you, Biagino. Just had to see who the mafioso-wannabe is, and whether he really is as expert as he is.”
“I’m not a mafioso, and I don’t plan to be one.”
“Mm…I can tell.” He gave the blond’s uniform a sweeping gaze, noting the badge on his sleeve. “COMSUBIN? And why would a soldier boy so boldly go up to the mafia and proclaim that he wants a hit job?”
“I have my reasons.”
He chuckled. “Well, I don’t know how much information they give you, but this hitman isn’t one you can just shoot down from a distance. If anything, he will find you before you can even get him with that big gun — “
A small jerk on the shoulders as a flamed bullet was released. The soldier had fired. The mafioso sighed, going over to glance out of the window. “You brats never listen to experienced adults — ah.” He slowly turned back to the youngun, who relaxed from his kneeling posture to adjust his gun and sling it over his shoulder. “You…killed a renown hitman with one shot.”
“If you’re not paying for show, I’m leaving, kora.”
A wide smirk. “I have other plans, Colonello — that is your name, am I right? I like to hire you for a task, and the reward is anything you request.”
Colonello was half-turned towards the door before he stopped, glancing at the other with an emotionless look. He was listening. The man fished a photograph from his pocket, extending it towards him. “Murder this person, return to me with evidence, and that is all. Not much detail on them, but there is basic information on the reverse side for you to look up. Will that be okay?”
He gazed at the photograph for a few seconds, before pocketing it. “One week,” was all he said, before turning and leaving the building.
And the mafioso merely gave a quick wave, snickering. “…One week till your own demise, then.”
“Stay calm, Falco… Whether or not we do this, we know who the real enemy is.”
This is why he hates the mafia… Yet he still found himself waiting near the place where he knew his target always patronized, fiddling with his dog tag.
" No I don’t need to be under surveillance. I’m the ’ new girl ’ on the block. I don’t need people watching me“.
” Are you sure? The last one was a bit of a doo–“
” I’m sure, I appreciate your concern Laura, but no“.
” Alright fine. But if something happens to you, we’ll flag it “.
” Fine. Talk to you next call“.
” Take care, Red Queen“.
Was the final word before a young dark haired woman moved a phone from her ear and ended the call. Letting out a small sigh the woman moved from where she was – in the grocery store – and started towards the cash. Having finished filling her small hand cart with what she needed to survive where she was staying for – well however long she was able to stay before another mission carried her elsewhere. Paying for her groceries she merely headed out of the store and over towards her car. From what she had seen of the town it wasn’t that bad. A bit better then some of the others she had visited before – then again she rarely stayed in one place for long before she was on the move again.
Opening and getting into her car, after putting her groceries beside her she started the car, then drove off. She had a small little house this time oppose to a hotel room or a apartment that she usually spent most of her days in while the night was a different story. Still upon driving into the drive way and seeing the ’ moving guys ’ truck still around she turned her car off and headed towards the already open door with her groceries. Seeing a man standing inside after she entered and shut the door behind her she then let out a small sigh.
” Figured that they’d send you. So, what should I know? “.
The man upon seeing her enter merely smirked a bit, ” Well –“ He started then glanced around to see the other workers from the same company of sorts setting down boxes down around for her to set up and try and look ’ newly moved in ’.
” I’m here to check up on you. Give you the keys to this place and well – I don’t think I need to tell you not to socialize that much, right?“
At her nod he continued, ” You already have your copy of the file needed, right? Good. You will be playing the role of a single woman moving here for a vacation of sorts from Spain. You are free to make up whichever name you would like for this and occupation. There are my suggestions being sent to your phone now“.
While he spoke, he pulled out his phone and hit send – a familiar ringtone went off in her pocket telling him it sent.
” Any questions? “
Lal as her name was merely pulled out her cellphone in order to look at his suggestions and glanced from her phone to him,
” Monica, really? I’ll go with Sara Bailen. As for occupation.. I’ll go with the occupation you have with Sara “.
” Alright. This should be all you need. And you know how to keep in contact if needed. Good Luck Red Queen“.
He spoke then started heading towards the door as Lal glanced at the ID and passport in her hand. Finding that it was nicely done she headed over towards the kitchen – after putting both down on a side table and started putting away her groceries. This seemed like an easy enough role to fulfill as she had done this sort of thing many times before. Well for the jobs that required her to take more time in her mission and wasn’t just an ’ attend this and destroy target ’ sort of plans.
These she enjoyed a bit more as it meant that she could .. well socialize a bit more then usual. Not that she was overly fond of doing so. But the option was there even if she was playing the part of another woman. Clearing her thoughts she finished up putting her groceries away then headed over towards a bookshelf that had been put in place and a box of what looked like books in front of it. Heading over towards it she knelt down and looked through it. Some she had read before while others were new, but well she needed to try and make this home look less bare. So she then started putting away the books, even if she wasn’t going to be here that long the house still needed to look the part of freshly moved in.
