Colonello was sincerely glad that Lal could not see how he was blushing a little to her statement, almost wanting to just throw her into bed. Well, he knew that she could handle herself, of course, but after seeing her trying to escape via the window, he had not been too sure about her mental state at least.
But surely there was nothing wrong with being a little gentleman, with her like that. He sighed internally. “Alright, I’ll remember to just drop you next time, kora…”
And then he was standing aside to allow the nurse and doctor room to check over her, only raising a brow to their seemingly suspicious glance at him. It was alright though, Iemitsu should have told them that he was coming, and therefore allowed to stay —
Wait.
What thehell?! Iemitsu…!!
“He was misleading you maggots!” His bad manner slipped in as he sputtered. “I’m not her spouse! I mean, not…yet — Just no! Does she look like the married type to you?!” He did not mean to insult her on the way, but he had no other excuse to cover up his flustering.
"Anyway, if he says I’m coming, then I get to stay, kora!” he coughed out the rest, pulling up a chair roughly and sitting down heavily near the head of the bed. “Come on, what’s her condition?”
⊰ ————— { ♚ } —— ;; Just as Lal was going to retort to his comment about dropping her next time she heard the doctor ask Colonello if he was her – w - w h a t ?
Cheeks going quite red at the mere idea of it as she heard him go on about that her guardian – she was almost positive it was Iemitsu who told them – that her spouse would be coming? She ignored his choice of words as he tried his best to correct the doctor who had been told wrong.
“ Sir, if you would calm down”, The doctor started then added, “ We cannot assume someone is not married just by looks alone. We were told such, and that is why I asked her”.
It was now Lal’s turn to defend herself here. After Colonello so valiantly denied it all.
“ I – I’m not married Doctor. We aren’t together either. He’s a coworker that’s it. ”
She spoke, despite the look the Doctor held that showed he wasn’t sure if he should believe them on that, but nodded.
“ As you know, She currently has lost her sight. Howeverthis is not permanent yet. ” He spoke, glancing at both of them. “ From our examination it shows she will get her sight back. But, it will take time, patience and not doing anything that would put a strain on them”.
It was then that Lal decided to speak up, as she felt like she was swimming a bit in foggy water just listening to him. Hoping that she wasn’t permanently blind. Hoping, wishing and almost pleading that she wasn’t. The doctors words stayed with her even after he spoke, but she had to know.
“ Strain them how?”.
The doctor looked from Colonello over towards Lal and frowned, not that she could see it.
“What I mean is, any damage to that head of yours. So that means staying at home, wearing sunglasses when you go outside, and being careful until your sight returns. Now I do not know for sure when it will – it may take a couple days or it may take weeks even a month. But I can assure you that if you do not do anything reckless. You will get your sight back. ”
So that meant that she was now stuck at home. No missions for awhile and nothing that could strain herself. Great. Now what was she going to do? She didn’t think she could completely follow through on that.
The doctor then took a step back, in order to leave. “ Judging by both of your expressions I will say this. Yes you can take her home but after we do one last check up ; however I will insist you bring her back for a check up within a couple days. Alright?”.
Was the last thing the doctor said before turning and leaving leaving the room completely. Lal then looked to where she thought Colonello had moved to. The urge to track down her cell phone and call Iemitsu and yell at him rising again but, she wasn’t to sure what else to say to him. She was glad, but she was far to prideful to fully ask him to help her further.
“ Let’s get out of here. The sooner I am out, the sooner I can kick Iemitsu’s face for this”.
Not quite what she really wanted to say, but it still was an ’ let’s leave ’ either way.
