Of course she would be mad, knowing that Iemitsu knew — he would not laze around knowing that he had sent his subordinates out on missions and returned with injuries, especially with a potential permanent damage — no, the doctors had not confirmed this, so there is at least some hope. So did Iemitsu, to allow Colonello, an obvious outsider, to enter and be the one to calm the prideful woman.
At first he shook his head in answer to her question, before realizing and speaking “No, I don’t know.” He had not seen them, so he was not sure. They might know eventually, but that would have to be revealed later.
As if she would be fine. For the most part, maybe, because she could not possibly be that weak, and Colonello understood just as much himself. Yet this was a situation new to both of them, who knew what would happen if she went out, subsequently making herself vulnerable to her enemies? So he did not answer right away — she knew the answers, as unpleasant as they were.
Then the request took him by surprise. Or a plea, with the last word added. She…would never have said that. But the little added weight on him was confirmation that he was not dreaming at all.
“ — Of course I would stay with you, kora.” He had already planned to forgo his duties at Mafialand for a few days, whether or not she liked it.
"C’mon, go back to bed,” he told her in a scolding manner now, carefully maneuvering her to the direction of the furniture while medical staff began filing in. “Let them check you out. Who knows you might not even have to live forever with it.” And he sincerely hoped so.
⊰ ————— { ♚ } —— ;; His answer to her question about whether or not anyone bar himself and Iemitsu knew seemed to make her more at ease. The less people that knew the better – for her pride’s sake. She knew they would know eventually, as CEDEF was such a close nit sort of place that they cared enough to be concerned for one another. Odd, but at a time like this Lal wish they weren’t as to not make anyone worried about her – despite her issue.
Colonello’s next words seemed to allow her body to relax even more. As if she had been worried that he was going to up and disappear from her – like part of her thought that because she couldn’t see that he wouldn’t stay. It was stupid of her to think this, yet she supposed because she felt vulnerable that she was thinking thoughts like this.
“ Thank you ”.
Lal stated before frowning at his statement about heading back to bed. She really didn’t want to go back – or stay. But the fact that he was now carefully maneuvering her back towards where she thought the bed was made up her mind for her. The fact that he was being so gentle with her was odd, it made her feel as though he was treating her like she was going to break. She wasn’t but did her loosing her sight also take an emotional toll on him as well?
“ Colonello, you don’t have to treat me so gently. I can handle more then you think ”.
She spoke, it was her way of letting him know that she wasn’t down for the count with this – at least for the moment. It didn’t take the two long before she was climbing back onto the bed as she heard footsteps enter the door, and voices she kind of reconized – medical staff. At Colonello’s comment she frowned a bit, and kept a hold of his arm sleeve now, as an ’ stay ’ action As much as she trusted the medical staff, she really didn’t. Even when Colonello had told her to let them check her over.
“ I hope so…”.
Lal replied as she let the nurses examine her over. It wasn’t that long before the doctor then came in and did his own check-up. Then glanced over towards Colonello, unsure who he was to his patient.
“ Sir, are you perhaps this lady’s spouse? ”
He questioned, more or less wanting to make sure that he was informing the right person of his findings afterwords. Then added,
“ Her guardian informed me before he left that her spouse would be visiting. Are you not him? ”.
