The way she first said his name, seemingly thinking over it, Colonello thought he had hope. That perhaps when she asked the question, it was merely a spur of moment, temporary fog of the mind, anything. After all, she had just been escorted back from an intense battlefield, defending at the front line most likely. The scene, the experience could muddle anyone.
Anyone.
His expression immediately fell at her next statements. Had the doctor not explained to her about her identity yet? Though he did hear that she had only just regained consciousness. The blond soldier began to rub down his face to calm himself down, angry medical personnel now storming in and yelling at him to stand aside, in case he was going to traumatize her.
“I wouldn’t come in here if I don’t think you’re who I said you are.” He had never looked at another person the same way he looked at her.
He moved over to stand near her head, azure eyes scanning over her to make sure that there was no other serious injury involved. They only said that she had been hit in the head pretty hard.
“But if you don’t think you’re Lal, who else do you think you are? Kora.” He took a slow breath, trying to figure what to say. “What do you remember?”
⊰ ————— { ♚ } —— ;; From the way his expression fell it seemed as though her answer had been not what he was hoping for. The fact that he had his hands on his face after it all told her as much. As she heard hurried footsteps head towards her room. What was with people and rushing in here? Did they think she was in trouble? Was the man who knew her someone bad? She didn’t know but the hospital personal who had stormed in didn’t seem happy with this at all.
“ Sir, We have to ask you to stand aside. She has not had a medical examination yet, due to just waking up moments before you entered”.
Explained a nurse before adding, now a bit curious.
“ We can only let you stay if you are family of this girl, or her significant other ”.
However the girl in question about all of this blinked at the nurse’s response, was he? She … well if she was this ’ Lal ’ then he was her student? but she didn’t remember ever having a student. Though his next words surprised her a little. If she wasn’t who he thought she was, he wouldn’t of come in here? Was this Lal that special of a person to him?
“… I ”
She started then frowned, stopping herself from trying to answer his next question. If she wasn’t this Lal girl, then who did she think she was? She.. didn’t know how to answer that.
“ I .. – I don’t know who I think I am. I just.. don’t think I’m her ”.
She didn’t know how else to explain it. This Lal girl seemed more special then she felt she could be to this man. Memory loss or otherwise. She inside felt like she shouldn’t be the girl that brought such expressions out of a man like this. Yet if it was true.. how on earth could she forget someone like him? Her head throbbed the more she thought about it, painful spike shot through her skull as she tried to remember. That told her that she hit her head enough that winced at the pain. Maybe it was better not to try and remember for now. To his next question she held a hand up to her head to try and stop some of the pounding.
“ Not much”.
Was her response then added,
“ I remember holding a gun, yelling, and ow.. seeing a man go down”.
She didn’t know what any of that meant together, but she hoped the other would. If anything it meant that some part of her mission had been completed if a man went down – but there was a good chance since she was in the state she was in that it wasn’t fully completed.
The nurse that had stayed quiet until now, then spoke,
“ Sir, are you related to this girl in any way? Or are you her husband and or lover? If you are neither of those. I have to ask you to leave until she is cleared to have visitors ”.
