“I’m doing Christmas shopping soon… I was wondering what you wanted,” despite the smile on his face he didn’t do much to hide the caution in his tone. Expecting to be met with the normal answers. Lal had never been rude toward him before - unless you counted unwarranted flirting, which he didn’t - but he still expected it nonetheless. It was hard not to at this point.

Lal couldn’t help but raise an
eyebrow at his statement,
despite the smile on his face
she was thrown for a loop as
to why he’d want to get her
something for Christmas.
“ Why?”.
Was her straight to the point
question for him before adding,
“ I don’t need anything”.
It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate
the offer of gifts, she was just a
hard person to buy for. She knew it
so she normally told people to forget
about getting her a gift, save wasting
their time and getting frustrated with it.
