“It’s more of an unspoken rule,” the don insisted. “Holidays falling in the months of November through January are to be spent with family. You, Lal Mirch, are family and therefore you may not pend Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years without company. Especially if someone is planning a group affair and you have no other engagements.”
He was not going to let this go.
⊰ ————— { ♚ } —— ;; Unspoken rule huh? Somehow that seemed familiar to her like something Iemitsu might have told her once upon a time. Or someone else? Regardless she knew of it. And as he continued on to explain to her that holidays were meant to be shared with family and that –she herself was family made her a tad surprised. The family part she often got told by Iemitsu but brushed it off and now someone else was telling her something similar.
” You aren’t going to let this go, are you? “
She questioned the other as she frowned a bit at his stubbornness – one that may just rival her own.
” I already have plans “.
Was her next response, a lie. But she was sure her straight face would of told him otherwise. She often spent the holidays alone — what difference did this one make? Another mark to a ledger of something she was never fond of, never felt like she needed to be there. She knew herself that she would be more then okay spending the night on her own. This itself was her cloud flame and independence kicking in. So much so, that she was going to keep this up till he agreed to let her not attend.
